Q. Is HMR only for church services? A. No. HMR has performed/ministered at schools, dinner meetings, fund raisers, prisons, conferences, seminars and in other secular settings as well as for church services. Q. How is HMR used in a church service? A. Generally one of the following: 1. as an “illustration” to accompany the pastor's message; 2. as another “part” of a specific service which has been preplanned; 3. as the focus of the service, with “characterization & accompanying message” following announcements, music, greetings, etc. Q. How long are the HMR presentations? A. Very flexible - use the below as a guideline: 1. LONGER CHARACTERIZATIONS app. 20-25 min. W/message app 40 min. - very workable for most church services. 2. SHORTER CHARACTERIZATIONS app 10-15 min. 3. PROGRAMS combining the CHARACTERIZATIONS and LONGER PRESENTATIONS are also available and offer a flexible time format usually from 60-90 minutes thus offering a wide variety of possibilities for your particular event. Just ask, we’ll make it work. Q. What equipment will we need to provide? A. 1. Each presentation has limited easy-to-find SET PIECES such as a bench, podium, American flag, small table, etc. Once the characterization is selected the items will be identified. 2. LIGHTING which isolates the playing space is a nice touch but not necessary. 3. A SOUND SYSTEM: needed to play CD for all presentations, if the house is large a wireless or headset microphone is needed plus knowledgeable Sound personnel to operate. Q. Do we need a stage? A. No. The common location for performance is the sanctuary if at a church but HMR has been performed in gymnasiums, meeting rooms, classrooms and more. HMR requires a small convenient area for costume changes.
A. Absolutely. The workshops and app. 10 presentations offer many possibilities and can be geared to meet the specific wishes of each individual group. From daily workshops and individual characterizations for a week long camp to a 2-3 day theme- based program we can make much happen. The agenda/format can actually be built for your own organization. Q. Does age matter to attend workshops and presentations? A. Yes. 1. WORKSHOPS should be separated by age . Teens and adults work well together but children (6th grade and younger) should have their own group. 2. ALL PRESENTATIONS are appropriate/enjoyable for teens and adults but many are not geared for small children. Some selections are children appropriate however. Once the audience is determined the characterizations or program can be arranged.
A. 1.WORSHIP SERVICES: travel expenses, lodging plus a love offering following the presentation or an honorarium, as arranged.
3. WORKSHOPS: as individual events with no accompanying performances a set fee will be agreed upon based on length, number in attendance, number of workshops; if arranged as an additional activity to accompany a planned presentation an additional small honorarium is appreciated. 4. TRAVEL EXPENSES: driving = $.50/mi. plus lodging and meals; flying = Michael travels alone and will need someone to assist on site. Fees are the same as driving except air fare is substituted for mileage. Michael will require the client to provide transportation to/from the airport. 5. “PIGGY BACK”: this allows you to save some money! Yippee! Travel expenses and housing costs will be cut in half if I am able to book another organization for the same trip. Once I am booked with you I will begin searching for another venue in the same area. You can help by providing referrals of churches/organizations which might be interested in having me. Therefore an additional booking benefits both HMR and your organization.
A. Yes. Make no mistake I want to come! From periods of abundance to times of lack the Lord has blessed HMR and taken care of me. Do not allow the devil to use finances as the sole reason I am not invited. In short, we can make it work. (Nuts to the devil.) Lets talk! |
